Atl. Madrid Osasuna prediction 2024-05-19

Atl. Madrid vs Osasuna prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-05-18 17:00.
[p]After posting a 3-0 victory in their match against Getafe in midweek, AtlĂ©tico Madrid managed to seal their place in next season’s Champions League group stage with two games to spare. The first of those season ending clashes comes here against mid-table Osasuna, a side who Atleti have beaten ‘to nil’ in each of the last five H2H encounters![/p]

[p]You’d be brave to back against that streak extending given their hot recent league form (W4), and the omens are good for a flourishing finish to AtlĂ©tico’s home season after winning each of their last four competitive outings here, despite keeping only one clean sheet in the process. That should help keep home hopes high even if they concede the opener, as only champions Real Madrid have recorded a higher points per game average than AtlĂ©tico when conceding first at home (W3, L1).[/p]

[p]Things haven’t been quite so rosy for Osasuna, who have won just one of their last nine matches (D2, L6), and as such have nothing but pride and mid-table places to play for in their final two games. Los Rojillos’ disappointing campaign is best illustrated by the fact they’re on their way to their worst La Liga points haul since 2016/17 when they went on to be relegated.[/p]

[p]Even closing out their away league campaign on a high seems highly unlikely for Osasuna, who have lost all seven of their league games against top-four opposition this season, five of which came by multi-goal margins. Manager Jagoba Arrasate must dread this fixture every time it rolls around too, as he has never faced any side more often whilst losing every single encounter than Atleti (L11). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: AtlĂ©tico’s Antoine Griezmann hit the opener in the reverse victory, although just one of his last nine strikes served to open the scoring. Possibly returning for Osasuna is Ante Budimir (G16), their lethal top-scorer who netted first in three of his last five scoring appearances. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Atlético Madrid have scored in both halves in a league-high 18 matches this season.[/p]
