Augsburg vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-10-25 13:30.
[p]After picking up just their second win of the Bundesliga season prior to the international break, Augsburg seemed to slip back into their bad habits when they were comprehensively beaten 3-1 away to Freiburg last time out. That was their tenth defeat in 14 league games since the start of April (W3, D1) – the joint-most losses suffered by any Bundesliga team in that time. [/p]
[p]Interestingly their home form this season paints a different picture, since all seven of their points have come in their four games at the WWK Arena this term (W2, D1, L1). Keeping those points coming will prove difficult for a side who haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 12 league matches, while the fact they’ve beaten Borussia Dortmund just three times in 27 previous encounters (D7, L17) makes for grim reading.[/p]
[p]Dortmund will arrive a wounded animal after their midweek mauling at the hands of Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League (UCL), as they lost 5-2 despite leading 2-0 at half-time! Whether BVB can pick themselves up after their European duties remains to be seen, as they’ve gone on to lose their last three Bundesliga matches following a midweek UCL fixture.[/p]
[p]That doesn’t bode well for them after what has been a mediocre start to their league season by their standards, as they currently sit in seventh place on 13 points. Just one of those points has been earned from their three matches on the road so far, making it the first time since 2012/13 that BVB have begun a league campaign without victory in their opening three away games.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Arne Maier knows what it’s like to score against Dortmund having done so in the 2022/23 season, a goal that contributes to an impressive run of netting his team’s opener in eight of his nine goalscoring outings at senior level. Hoping to undercut him will be Donyell Malen, who scored before half-time in both games against Augsburg last season.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: There have been at least two goals scored before half-time in six of Dortmund’s last eight matches. [/p]
