Augsburg Heidenheim prediction 2025-01-25

Augsburg vs Heidenheim prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-01-24 14:30.
[p]Successive 2-0 away wins against Werder Bremen and Union Berlin respectively have helped Augsburg steer clear of trouble in the Bundesliga, and they should now be looking up rather than down. Jess Thorup’s men are 11 points clear of automatic relegation pre-round and just six shy of the top six, so if they can follow up their impressive pair of away results at home to struggling Heidenheim, they’ll be well-placed to mount a European charge. [/p]

[p]It’s been at home where they’ve struggled of late though, losing back-to-back Bundesliga games there ‘to nil’, and with just a single goal scored at the WWK Arena across their last four league outings there, it’s clear to see where their issue lies. They drew a scoring blank in the reverse H2H too, a heavy 4-0 defeat, but considering they’ve never before lost three successive Bundesliga home games ‘to nil’, home fans should at least expect a goal to celebrate. [/p]

[p]Marking their first ever Bundesliga season with qualification for European competition was obviously a great achievement for Heidenheim last season, but the strain of those extra games and perhaps expectations have taken a toll this campaign, with the Baden-Württemberg side occupying the relegation play-off place pre-round after a run of just one win in 13 league games (D2, L10). Four points from their last three games is an improvement but fans will be fearful of another road trip after losing five of their last six such games (D1, L5), despite scoring at least twice in four of those! [/p]

[p]Conceding 18 goals across those matches shows just how poor their defence has been, but slow starts have also plagued them, with their last three matches on their travels seeing them fall behind inside 20 minutes. Overall, Heidenheim have conceded first in 11 of their 18 league games this term and fallen to defeat in ten of those (D1) – only St Pauli have claimed fewer points from losing positions in the Bundesliga this term. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Proficient in the air, Samuel Essende has scored a header on four of his last six scoring appearances for Augsburg. More a prolific offender than a goalscorer, Luca Kerber has been shown a yellow card in three of his last four league appearances.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Heidenheim have conceded at least once before half-time in seven of their nine Bundesliga away games this term.[/p]
