Augsburg Hoffenheim prediction 2023-11-11

Augsburg vs Hoffenheim prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-11-10 14:30.
Augsburg manager Jess Thorup insists “there are a lot of things to improve”, despite an unbeaten start to life in the dugout. The former Copenhagen boss has had an immediate impact since taking the reins midway through October, picking up seven points from his three games in charge (W2, D1), but he still saw plenty of areas for his new side to work on as they drew 1-1 against Cologne last weekend.

One area of focus for the Dane might be Augsburg’s defence, given they have not kept a clean sheet in any of their 11 outings across all competitions this season. That doesn’t always spell disaster, and Thorup will be encouraged by his players’ resilience too, as the Fuggerstädter have trailed in each of his three matches at the helm, but have still managed to rescue a result on each occasion.

Looking to put a dent in that record are Hoffenheim, who have won more Bundesliga games against Augsburg than any other opposition (W14, D4, L6). The visitors will be keen for that kind of form to continue, given they head to the WWK Arena on the back of four defeats in their last six league and cup outings (W2), conceding a whopping 14 goals in the process!

The most recent of those losses was 3-2 reversal at home to Bayer Leverkusen, although manager Pellegrino Matarazzo insisted his side made a “step forward” with their performance levels. He’ll be hoping they can continue that improvement for this fixture, with the Blues attempting to extend what is already a club-record run of five successive Bundesliga away wins, netting at least twice in each fixture.

Key battle: After a flying start under Thorup at Augsburg in which he has netted three first half goals, Phillip Tietz is attempting to net in a fourth successive league game. Aiming to thwart him will be Hoffenheim captain Oliver Baumann, who has kept more clean sheets against Augsburg than any other club – nine in 24 matches (W14, D4, L6).

Hot stat: Augsburg have conceded the first goal in eight of their ten league matches this season, a joint-high for the division.
