Auxerre Angers prediction 2024-11-24

Auxerre vs Angers prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-11-23 16:00.
[p]It could be argued that the final international break of 2024 came at the worst possible time for Auxerre, who have put together a four-match unbeaten Ligue 1 run to lift themselves up to ninth in the table ahead of the weekend. Three of those results were victories (D1), the latest of which saw them memorably defeat Marseille 3-1 on the road, a win which could perhaps indicate a challenge for a European qualification spot as Christophe Pélissier’s men continue to grow in confidence. [/p]

[p]Having won four of their five home games in Ligue 1 this season (L1) – scoring 2+ goals in each of those victories – Auxerre currently boast the league’s second-strongest such record after table-toppers Paris Saint-Germain. That leaves them well placed to record another positive result against Angers, the side that they beat to the Ligue 2 title last term, a feat helped by their 1-0 triumph in February’s corresponding fixture. [/p]

[p]Unlike their opponents here, Angers aren’t faring quite as well on their return to the top-flight as they begin this matchday sitting just outside the relegation play-off place by virtue of goal difference. Both of their two wins this season (D4, L5) have at least come during their last three outings, the second of those a hugely impressive 1-0 away victory over Monaco. [/p]

[p]That three-point haul also made it four matches without defeat for Angers on their Ligue 1 travels (D3) – equal to the number of positive results gained in their previous 20 such competition outings (W1, D3, L16). It wouldn’t be surprising if they extended that run further this weekend either, having lost just one of their last ten H2Hs overall (W4, D5). [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Hamed Junior Traoré has been in fine form for Auxerre this season, netting five times in nine games, with his last four goalscoring appearances helping to deliver a positive result for his side (W3, D1). Angers’ Bamba Dieng will hold happy memories of facing Auxerre, as his only goal against them to date was the first of his professional career during the 2020/21 campaign. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Auxerre have scored in both halves in four of their five home Ligue 1 matches this season – a joint-high tally in the competition ahead of the weekend. [/p]
