B. Monchengladbach vs Darmstadt prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-02-09 14:30.
After their DFB-Pokal quarter-final at Saarbrücken was postponed in midweek, Borussia Mönchengladbach look ahead to the small matter of ending their three-match Bundesliga winless sequence (D1, L2). That said, their last two games were against the top two, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, so one may cut the Foals some slack as they prepare for a much easier contest on paper here.

Rock-bottom Darmstadt are the visitors to Borussia-Park this weekend, and as Gladbach have lost just one of their last nine competitive home matches (W6, D2), there should be a degree of confidence they can snap their current winless streak. Despite that strong form, Gladbach have failed to win all but one of their league games against teams beginning this round below them at any venue this season (W1, D2, L2), and conceded at least twice in four of those clashes, just as they did in their last two home H2Hs (W1, D1).

That scoring ability has eluded Darmstadt lately, as a run of three defeats ‘to nil’ across their last four Bundesliga outings (D1) has left them seven points adrift of 15th and safety ahead of the weekend, and having failed to come out on top in any of their last 13 league matches (D4, L9), it is becoming increasingly difficult to make a case for their survival.

The travelling faithful may have sour memories of the reverse fixture in which Darmstadt incredibly held a 3-0 lead before drawing 3-3, although that did take manager Torsten Lieberknecht’s solid personal H2H record to just one loss from four encounters (W1, D2, L1). Another strong start may be necessary then if the Lilies are to post just their second away league victory of the campaign, as they are one of only two Bundesliga sides without a clean sheet on the road.

Players to watch: Gladbach’s Jordan Siebatcheu kickstarted that stirring comeback at Darmstadt with the first of four team-opening goals that he has netted this term. Trying to stop him will likely be defender Matej Maglica, who has been booked in two of his last four games, and scored before being sent off at home to Gladbach last September.

Hot stat: 16 of Gladbach’s 20 Bundesliga matches this season (80%) have seen both teams score – the second-highest total in the league.
