B. Monchengladbach Stuttgart prediction 2024-01-14

B. Monchengladbach vs Stuttgart prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-01-13 16:30.
Borussia Mönchengladbach would have been very much looking forward to the Bundesliga’s winter break, as their five games prior to the hiatus yielded only one victory (D1, L3). That left Gerardo Seoane’s men languishing in 12th place heading into the weekend with just 17 points to their name after 16 matches, meaning that only in 2016/17 (16 points) did they have a worst tally at this stage across the last 12 seasons.

Their struggles can mostly be attributed to their glaringly brittle defence, which has kept just one clean sheet throughout this league campaign. Optimism can be found in the form of the Foals’ home form however, as they haven’t suffered a defeat in their last seven outings in front of the Borussia-Park faithful (W5, D2).

The overall mood could not be more different for Stuttgart, who have propelled themselves into the coveted top four thanks to a stunning start to the season. Sebastian Hoeneß has masterminded the club’s second-best Bundesliga tally of 34 points at this stage of a campaign, only bettered by the team of 2003/04, who amassed 35 points.

The Reds reached their current tally with a 3-0 win over Augsburg to round off 2023, after the reality check of drawing 1-1 and losing 3-0 to top-of-the-table Bayer Leverkusen and second-placed Bayern Munich respectively. They will be keen to build on their already-strong form against a Mönchengladbach side they have lost to just once in the last seven league H2Hs (W4, D2), although they will have to keep their wits about them as both teams have scored in their last seven meetings in all competitions.

Players to watch: Gladbach’s top scorer this term, Alassane Pléa (G7), often shows up against Stuttgart, having recorded five goal contributions in his last six H2Hs (G2, A3). The visitors, meanwhile, will have to cope without leading marksman Serhou Guirassy due to the Africa Cup of Nations, so much of the scoring burden is likely to be borne by Deniz Undav, who has netted eight of his last 12 league goals away from home.

Hot stat: All but two of Gladbach’s 19 games this season have yielded more than 2.5 goals.
