B. Monchengladbach Wolfsburg prediction 2025-05-17

B. Monchengladbach vs Wolfsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-05-16 13:30.
[p]Although Borussia Mönchengladbach can still record their first Bundesliga top-half finish since 2020/21, it’s a tall order on the final day as they must first end a six-match winless streak (D2, L4) with a win over Wolfsburg. Victory here might not suffice as they need RB Leipzig to beat ninth-placed Stuttgart, the team they trail by two points with a vastly inferior goal difference.[/p]

[p]From sitting as high as fifth at the end of March, their season has fallen away dramatically partly because of a loss of home form which has seen them win just one of their last six Bundesliga games here, while conceding at least twice in four of those fixtures (D2, L3). Frustrated fans may find some comfort from the Foals strong record in their final home league game of a season, losing just one of their last five such matches (W3, D1).[/p]

[p]It’s also been a disappointing end to the season for Wolfsburg, who sacked Ralph Hasenhüttl prior to last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim, a result that confirmed they will finish no higher than 11th this term. But improving on last season’s 12th-place finish now depends on breaking a nine-match Bundesliga winless run (D3, L6), combined with Union Berlin beating Augsburg.[/p]

[p]Like their hosts, as late as mid-March Wolfsburg were threatening the European qualification positions before things unravelled. Their last league win came on the road against Bremen (L 1-2), but three defeats from their next four trips (D1), with each loss coming without reply, hardly inspires hope of a turnaround here. History also stands against the visitors, as they haven’t won an away H2H since February 2019 (D2, L4), failing to score in their last three visits (L3).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Despite Gladbach’s struggles, Franck Honorat is finishing the season strongly with four direct goal contributions across Gladbach’s last three games (G2, A2), three of which came after half-time. Jonas Wind completed the scoring for Wolfsburg against Hoffenheim, with all seven of the Bundesliga games he’s scored in this season producing over 3.5 goals.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Wolfsburg haven’t rounded off a Bundesliga season with a win since beating Augsburg 8-1 on the final day of 2018/19 (D1, L4).[/p]
