Barcelona Alaves prediction 2023-11-12

Barcelona vs Alaves prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-11-11 15:15.
After starting the season unbeaten across their first 13 matches in all competitions (W10, D3), Barcelona have lost two of their last three after defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek. That loss was all the more disappointing considering that Xavi’s men managed just one shot on target against the Ukrainian outfit, and after scoring just nine goals in their last eight fixtures, firepower appears to be a problem for the Blaugrana.

Their other defeat saw them squander the lead in the season’s first El Clásico, a result which leaves Barça in danger of losing consecutive home league games for the first time since April 2022. There are reasons to be positive however, as before that reversal to eternal rivals Real Madrid, Barcelona had won each of their prior seven home matches – a run which saw them concede just three times.

The arrival of Deportivo Alavés might help getting back to winning ways too, as Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 11 top-flight H2Hs (W9, D2), their longest such run against them in the competition. Alavés won’t be short of motivation to break that rut though, as they target back-to-back top-flight wins for the first time since October 2021 after a 1-0 win against Almería last weekend.

Luis García's men start this round five points above the relegation zone, but away matches haven’t been their strength since returning to La Liga, failing to win any of their six such fixtures (D2, L4). They conceded first in five of those, and having done so in each of their last four away league H2Hs, Alavés could be in for more pain here despite claiming a draw in their last away game against Barcelona back in 2021.

Players to watch: Barcelona’s João Félix finds himself in the midst of a five-game goal drought, but this fixture could be ideal for snapping that considering that he directly contributed to three goals in his last two personal H2Hs (G2, A1). Ander Guevara, who scored Alavés’ last away league goal, doesn’t have such a luxury, losing his last four personal league H2Hs, including two by a 1-0 scoreline.

Hot stat: Five of Barcelona's last eight matches have ended 1-0, the same scoreline the most recent H2H was decided by.
