Bayer Leverkusen Dortmund prediction 2025-05-11

Bayer Leverkusen vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2025-05-10 13:30.
[p]Having already relinquished their Bundesliga crown to Bayern Munich, all Bayer Leverkusen have left to play for across the last two rounds is pride and to send manager Xabi Alonso off on a high after it was announced in the week that he’ll leave the club at the end of the season. They’re already assured of a second-place finish and a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League, but in the closing stages of the campaign they could complete a first H2H Bundesliga double over Borussia Dortmund since 2006/07.[/p]

[p]Since that campaign 18 years ago, Leverkusen have only won three of 17 home H2Hs (D7, L7), while three draws from their last four league games this season (W1) reinforces the belief that this could be a tough assignment for Die Werkself. In spite of those draws, they’re at least unbeaten in their last seven Bundesliga games (W4, D3) and incredibly haven’t lost any of their last 27 Sunday-held league matches dating back to February 2023 (W18, D9).[/p]

[p]While Leverkusen are playing for nothing, Dortmund’s campaign very much requires a solid ending if they’re to achieve Champions League football. Dortmund have risen from the depths of the bottom half to become genuine top-four contenders, but they still trail fourth place by a point pre-round and will realistically need to win here to keep those chances alive going into the final day. [/p]

[p]If they’re to emerge victorious here, it will require Dortmund to post back-to-back away league wins for the first time this season. That could prove tricky with Niko Kovač at the helm, a man who’s only won two of his 11 managerial meetings with Leverkusen (D2, L7), alarmingly losing five of his six such away games (D1) and conceding at least twice in each! [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick netted a first-half brace in the reverse fixture, and four of his last five club goals arrived before half-time too. Serhou Guirassy has netted seven goals across his last four Dortmund appearances and needs just one more goal to equal the record debut Bundesliga campaign by a BVB player (20 goals).[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only one of Leverkusen’s last six home matches saw both teams score. [/p]
