Bayer Leverkusen RB Leipzig prediction 2024-08-31

Bayer Leverkusen vs RB Leipzig prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-08-30 16:30.
[p]After scoring 18 times in the 90th minute or later in last season’s historic campaign, Bayer Leverkusen have picked up where they left off, scoring late in both competitive matches this season. Die Werkself surrendered a 2-0 lead at Borussia Mönchengladbach in their Bundesliga opener, only for Florian Wirtz to score the second-latest winner in the league’s history, netting in the 101st minute to get their title defence off to a winning start.[/p]

[p]Xabi Alonso’s side face a stern challenge next as RB Leipzig visit the BayArena, and there’s more history on the line for the reigning champions. Currently unbeaten in 35 Bundesliga games (W29, D6), an extension to that remarkable run would see them match Hamburg’s tally from January 1982 to January 1983 – the second-longest run in history – but they remain a way off Bayern Munich’s record of 53 under Pep Guardiola from a decade ago![/p]

[p]RB Leipzig are on an impressive run themselves, as they arrive in Leverkusen protecting a 12-match unbeaten run that stretches back to February (W8, D4). The Red Bulls were far from their fluent best in a 1-0 victory over Bochum last weekend, but there’s clear goalscoring potential in the squad, as demonstrated by the fact that only their hosts and Bayern Munich scored more away goals than them in the Bundesliga last term.[/p]

[p]Marco Rose’s side failed to find the net in just one away league game last season, and will arrive at the BayArena protecting a six match unbeaten run on the road (W4, D2). Extending that to seven games could be tough at a venue where they have suffered defeats and trailed at half-time on each of their last two visits.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Subject to transfer speculation all summer, Jonathan Tah looks set to stay at Leverkusen. He scored in both H2Hs last season – both 3-2 wins for Leverkusen – and in fact, every time he found the net last term, his side won while scoring 3+ goals! LoĂŻs Openda was also on the scoresheet in both H2Hs in 2023/24, accounting for two of the three losses he suffered when finding the net for Leipzig in the Bundesliga last season (W14, D3).[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Leverkusen have scored twice before half-time in each of their last four league matches (W4).[/p]
