Bayer Leverkusen Stuttgart prediction 2022-11-12

Bayer Leverkusen vs Stuttgart prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-11-11 14:30.
Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen emphatically ended a six-game competitive winless run (D3, L3) with a pair of victories over high-flying Union Berlin and Cologne by a combined 7-1 scoreline. Alonso previously stated that he wanted to instil an attacking mentality at the club and that finally seems to be paying dividends after he heaped praise on his side for showing “the energy, the intensity, the desire” following their latest win.

Even with those victories, this remains one of Leverkusen’s worst ever starts to a Bundesliga campaign with just a four-point cushion to the bottom-three. However victory here would open up a four-point gap to Stuttgart and could see Leverkusen move to as high as tenth before the winter break, and they may be confident of doing just that after winning seven of the last eight home H2H league encounters.

Since dismissing Pellegrino Matarazzo in early October, Stuttgart have seen a significant uptick in form, winning four of their first six matches in all competitions under interim manager Michael Wimmer (L2). Those successes were all on home soil, so Wimmer’s next task is to get his side winning on the road in what could potentially be his final game in charge should he not get the job on a permanent basis.

Just one point in this clash would be enough to ensure that Stuttgart end 2022 outside of the drop zone, but to achieve that aim Stuttgart may need to improve on their woeful backline which has conceded 2.14 goals per away league game. The BayArena may not be the ideal place to plug those defensive holes though, with Stuttgart conceding at least twice in 14 of their last 15 competitive visits.

Players to watch: Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby has contributed to four goals in his two home appearances against Stuttgart and also scored three times across his side’s last two victories. Trying to outdo him will be Stuttgart’s in-form 20 year-old Tiago Tomás. The Portuguese forward has contributed to goals in his last three appearances (G1, A2), including scoring their last goal away from home.

Hot stat: Seven of Stuttgart’s last eight matches produced at least two first-half goals.
