Bayern Munich Bochum prediction 2023-09-23

Bayern Munich vs Bochum prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-09-22 13:30.
Bayern Munich bounced back from being held to a 2-2 draw by Bayer Leverkusen last Friday by beating Manchester United 4-3 in a frantic UEFA Champions League contest on Wednesday night. Manager Thomas Tuchel, who was banned from the touchline, claimed the success was big for his side’s improving “self-belief and development”, both of which have been growing week by week thanks to an unbeaten five-game run (W4, D1) since a shock 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the DFL-Supercup last month.

Leipzig are also the only side to beat Bayern at the Allianz Arena in the Bundesliga since January 2022 (W17, D8), while the Bavarians haven’t dropped points in successive home league matches since January 2023. Understandably then, Germany’s perennial champions are big favourites here and recent H2H history suggests that we could be in store for another goal-fest with each of the last five home meetings with Bochum seeing Bayern score 3+ goals.

It’s a daunting task ahead for Bochum, who remain winless in this Bundesliga campaign (D3, L1). Yet, three draws to get over their 5-0 demolition at Stuttgart on the opening day is being seen as a positive by boss Thomas Letsch, who said he’s “happy” with the recent performances from his side; albeit disappointed they don’t have a win to show for it. Still, three more points on the board than what they had after four rounds last season (L4) will be seen as progression.

If Letsch really wants to see advancement in his team, then improving on the road is a must. Only relegated Hertha Berlin accumulated fewer away points last season than Bochum (nine – W2, D3, L12), while they lost by a combined aggregate scoreline of 10-0 away at last campaign’s eventual top three of Bayern, Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig.

Players to watch: Scorer in midweek, Mathys Tel has bagged each of his last seven competitive goals for Bayern in the final 15 minutes, three of them in stoppage time, while all three of Takuma Asano’s competitive strikes for Bochum this season have arrived in away matches.

Hot stat: Three of the last four H2H meetings have produced 4+ first-half goals.
