Bayern Munich vs PSG prediction: EUROPE: Champions League – League phase betting tips on match 2024-11-25 20:00.
[p]Two giants of their respective domestic leagues, a clash between Bayern Munich and PSG is one of the standout ties on matchday five. It’s a swift chance to keep the momentum going for Bayern, who have won six games in a row in all competitions, but with an indifferent UEFA Champions League (UCL) campaign seeing them languish outside of the top-eight, they’ve got some catching up to do.[/p]
[p]They look good value to take the first step on that road here against a PSG side they’ve beaten in three successive UCL H2Hs. They’ve been a formidable force at home in this competition too, going unbeaten in their last 18 UCL home games (W14, D4), although they’ll be acutely aware that the last team to beat them in Europe’s premier club competition on this ground was PSG way back in April 2021. [/p]
[p]PSG are a much different proposition these days as they continue to come to terms with the loss of Kylian Mbappé, who scored twice in Munich that night. The Parisians’ UCL campaign is actually going worse than Bayern’s this season, as they start this latest round outside of the top-24, which would mean a group/league phase exit in this competition for the first time since 2004/05. [/p]
[p]It’s hard to see them improving their standing against a Bayern side they’ve failed to score against in the last three H2Hs. Two of their last four visits to Germany also saw them draw a scoring blank, so you could forgive them for travelling in a sombre mood, in what will be a landmark evening for boss Luis Enrique, who takes charge of his 50th game as a manager in the UEFA Champions League (W30, D6, L13). [/p]
[p]Key battle: Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has saved just one of the six shots on target he’s faced in the UCL this season, while Vitinha was the last current PSG player to score a UCL away goal for the club – three of his last four away goals have been the game opener.[/p]
[p]Hot streak: PSG haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 20 UCL away games (W7, D4, L9). [/p]
