Bayern Munich Wolfsburg prediction 2022-08-14

Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-08-13 15:30.
Defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich continue their quest for an 11th successive title as they host Wolfsburg, against whom they have never lost at home (W27, D2). Indeed, the Bavarians have a staggering H2H record versus this weekend’s opposition after beating them 44 times in 57 overall meetings (D9, L4), even scoring the first goal in 13 of the last 15.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side are already top of the table after a 6-1 demolition of Frankfurt in their opening game, a victory that followed on from a 5-3 defeat of RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup. They are certainly showing no ill-effects of losing Robert Lewandowski, top scorer in the last seven campaigns, given new signing Sadio Mané, alongside Jamal Musiala, Benjamin Pavard and Serge Gnabry have scored in both outings.

Wolfsburg’s quest to push back into the top half of the Bundesliga kicked off with a point as Josuha Guilavogui’s late strike secured a 2-2 draw at home to Werder Bremen. That was hardly the most inspiring start for a side who finished in 12th place last year, a whopping 35 points off top spot and a full 19 points shy of the total they amassed in 2020/21.

Former Bayern player and manager Niko KovaÄŤ took charge of the Wolves this summer and his first game in charge was a 1-0 German Cup win at lower-league Carl Zeiss Jena. He knows his side must improve their record on the road this season, as they lost ten times in 18 domestic away trips last term, including a 4-0 thumping at this venue, while a total of just five Bundesliga away victories last season (D3) was actually their lowest since 2017/18.

Players to watch: Bayern’s Thomas Müller hasn’t scored more goals against any side than his 13 strikes against Wolfsburg in 27 career H2Hs (W22, D3, L2). Meanwhile, Max Kruse joined Wolfsburg in January, and four of his five goalscoring games since have featured over 3.5 match goals, including against Bayern in a 2-2 draw in May.

Hot streak: Bayern have scored at least two goals in each of their last 14 league meetings with Wolfsburg.
