[p]After a humiliating 1-0 defeat against a Valladolid side who propped up La Liga last week, Real Betis have a point to prove against another struggling side in Alavés. Betis themselves aren’t in any immediate danger as they sit in mid-table, but if they are unable to rediscover some form after a run of just one win in their last eight league matches (D4, L3), they may have to start looking over their shoulder.[/p]
[p]Alavés are perhaps an ideal opponent against whom Betis can kick-start their season, as Los Verdiblancos are unbeaten in the last seven top-flight H2Hs (W4, D3). The last three of those have ended level, as have Betis’ last three home league games, but a clean sheet may be the hosts’ best route to success here as they’re one of just four La Liga teams to have scored in every home league game this season. [/p]

They have been fighting hard in recent times though, as Alavés are one of just six teams to have lost no more than one game across the last five rounds of La Liga action (D4, L1).[/p]
[p]Some torrid away form has undone their campaign, with the visitors winless across their last eight away league games (D2, L6), although their last two did end level. They’ll now hope to open their away account for 2025 in style, but to do so they’ll have to overcome a fairly wretched H2H record on the road against Betis (W4, D3, L12).  [/p]
