Betis Cadiz CF prediction 2023-04-09

Betis vs Cadiz CF prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-04-08 14:15.
As La Liga (LL) enters the home straight, Real Betis are firmly in the European shake-up with their eyes fixated on fourth spot. Three points separated Betis from the fourth and final Champions League spot ahead of the round and they will be hopeful of potentially closing that gap up this weekend when they welcome a CĂĄdiz side who they have never lost to at home in LL (W8, D3).

Many may expect Betis to extend that impressive run this weekend, especially given their imperious record in Andalusian derbies in LL this season (W4, D2). That includes a 0-0 draw in the reverse H2H, and Betis have been equally as water-tight at the back of late too, keeping successive home league clean sheets. That leaves them well placed as they seek to extend their three match unbeaten LL run at Estadio Benito VillamarĂn (W2, D1).

Playing the role of party poopers will be the last thing on Cádiz’s collective minds with their own survival prospects teetering. Considering they’ve won just two of their 29 away games against Betis in all competitions (D9, L18), the prospects of taking their first LL win home from Betis appears slim. On a more positive note, Cádiz have drawn three of their last four LL games as they battle to beat the drop, but they will be acutely aware that they need to start winning games if they’re to avoid sitting uncomfortably for the rest of the campaign.

Interestingly, two of those draws came on the road, but one has to go as far back as 1992 (under the stewardship of RamĂłn Blanco) for the last time CĂĄdiz drew three successive top-flight away games. Current CĂĄdiz boss Sergio may believe he holds the key to ending that run of stalemates with a win, as against no other side in LL has he won more managerial games than against Betis (W4, D2, L3).

Players to watch: Borja Iglesias has made an indelible impact on Betis, with the frontman scoring the decisive goal in victory on seven of his ten scoring appearances this term. Amid a number of injuries to key players, 37-year-old Álvaro Negredo may get a chance up front again for Cådiz and will try to add to his five career goals versus Betis, all of which strangely came in the first half.

Hot stat: Cádiz’s two LL away goals scored within the opening half-hour is a league low.
