Betis Cadiz CF prediction 2023-09-24

Betis vs Cadiz CF prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-09-23 16:30.
Real Betis’ poor start to the season continued in midweek, as a 1-0 UEFA Europa League reverse against Rangers left them with just one win in five matches in all competitions (D1, L3). Veteran Manuel Pellegrini fumed at what he thought was an “unfair result” after seeing his side fail to make enough of several good first-half chances.

As the one victory in that aforementioned sequence came at home, returning to Estadio Benito Villamarín could help the Verdiblancos find some better form and lift themselves away from mid-table, given they’ve only lost one of their last seven La Liga (LL) fixtures here (W3, D3). Entertainment isn’t guaranteed though as none of the last four of those matches produced more than two goals.

Cádiz have every reason to be satisfied with their campaign so far (W2, D1, L2) as that represents their best five-game opening since an almost identical start in 2020/21, when they’d conceded one fewer goal in a season in which they went on to finish 12th. All the goals came after half-time as they lost 3-0 to Athletic Bilbao in their last fixture, which is something of a concern for a side yet to strike after the hour-mark in the league this term.

They’re yet to score at all away from home (L2), and with just one goal across their last five LL road fixtures (D1, L4), being on their travels again soon after sinking to one heavy defeat could set alarm bells ringing for the Yellow Submarine. More positively, they’ve not found it too hard to navigate through smoother waters here, only losing one of the last four away H2Hs (W2, D1).

Players to watch: Ayoze Pérez could be the man to get Betis off to a strong start as all five goals he’s scored for them since joining in January arrived before half-time. Gonzalo Escalante is the last player to score an away goal for Cádiz, while he also registered an assist in two of their last three LL fixtures.

Hot streak: Cádiz are yet to trail at half-time this term (HT: W2, D3).
