Betis Getafe prediction 2024-02-04

Betis vs Getafe prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2024-02-03 17:30.
Real Betis won just two of their eight La Liga games across December and January (D4, L2), yet both victories came across their past three matches (L1). Their recent 1-0 win over Mallorca means that each of their last three triumphs in the league have been by the same scoreline, whilst a similar outcome could occur again here as two of the last three H2Hs have also been settled via a 1-0 result, though it was visitors Getafe who came out on top here last season.

The home side can take comfort in that was their opponent's only H2H win from the past six meetings (W3, D2), and if Betis can build further on that record with victory here, then they’ll have a great chance of climbing back into the top six with Real Sociedad – one place and two points above – travelling to leaders Girona. Additionally, late moves in the transfer window for CĂ©dric Bakambu and Pablo Fornals will strengthen the home side’s hopes that they can enjoy a strong second half of the season.

Getafe’s aforementioned win here last season was crucial in helping them avoid the drop, however, such problems look unlikely this season. Although title-chasing Real Madrid eased past them on Thursday with a routine 2-0 win, the away side are still seven points better off than they were at this stage of the last campaign and as a result, come into this round with a chance of climbing into the league’s top nine should they secure a win.

On paper, Getafe travel as one the league’s worst away sides with just one La Liga success on the road all season (D5, L5). Yet, that doesn’t paint an accurate picture of their more recent form on the road with their 3-2 defeat to Osasuna their only loss on the road in their last five games (W3, D1) – albeit that record is padded out with two wins in the Copa del Rey.

Players to watch: Isco’s been on fire at home recently, especially in the second half where he’s scored three goals for Betis across his past two Benito Villamarín matches. Borja Mayoral has been Getafe’s man on the road, scoring in each of their last three league road trips.

Hot stat: Eight of the last nine H2Hs produced two goals or fewer.
