Betis Sevilla prediction 2022-11-06

Betis vs Sevilla prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2022-11-05 20:00.
‘The Pearl of Andalusia’ plays host to the 138th ‘Gran Derbi’ as Real Betis meet arch-rivals Sevilla, with the H2H record at Betis evenly split (W24, D21, L24). Whilst temperatures are falling in one of the hottest cities in Europe, there’ll be a fiery intent to go one up in the H2H history books, with the match suspended here in January after Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordán was struck by an object thrown from the crowd.

While some Betis fans felt Jordán exaggerated his injury that day, it’s difficult to overemphasise the form of the hosts who recently beat Real Sociedad 2-0 and moved into La Liga’s (LL) top four after 12 games, a position they’ll aim to be in come the end of the season for the first time since 2005. That form has been replicated on the European stage too with a 3-0 victory against HJK in midweek rounding off their Europa League group triumph which reportedly earned Betis more than 15 million euros!

Sevilla’s Champions League journey for this year ended with a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City in midweek and by losing 1-0 to Rayo Vallecano in their last league outing, they now languish in the relegation zone after 12 games for the first time this century! Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has been quick to warn his side of the Sevillista threat, whilst seemingly taking aim at their expenditure, stating “the cost of their squad is the same as last year”.

Having already failed to win their opening six home LL games for the first time, newly-appointed Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli is searching for answers on the road too. He’d better find them quick if he wants a positive result here, as after taking just two wins from eight games in charge (D3, L3) his side have now conceded 31 goals in 18 games in all competitions, which is a whopping 18 more than after the same amount of matches last campaign!

Players to watch: Borja Iglesias has eight LL goals so far, the most by a Betis player after 12 games this century, whilst the visitors may look to Érik Lamela who has three goal contributions in his last five outings (G2, A1).

Hot stat: Sevilla have scored first in six of their past eight away contests, but have won on just two occasions (D3, L3).
