Betis vs Valencia prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-05-22 19:00.
[p]A thumping 4-1 defeat against Atlético Madrid on Sunday night means that Real Betis are guaranteed to finish sixth in La Liga, with their focus undoubtedly trained on next week’s UEFA Conference League final against Chelsea. That goes some way to explaining their three-match winless run since qualifying for the final (D2, L1), perhaps leaving them short on momentum ahead of their biggest game of the season.[/p]
[p]Manuel Pellegrini’s men have one more chance to build up a head of steam as they take on Valencia, a side they’re unbeaten against in the last six home H2Hs (W4, D2). Five of those saw both teams on the scoresheet, but Betis still appear primed to come out on top having won seven of their nine home league matches this term against current bottom-half sides (D1, L1).[/p]
[p]Back-to-back 1-0 defeats have ended Valencia’s chances of European qualification, but a top-half finish is still possible should they win at Estadio Benito VillamarĂn and a couple of other results go in their favour. That would also hand Los Ches their first double over Betis since 2017/18 after winning the reverse fixture 4-2, while it would also be a fitting end to Carlos Corberán’s debut campaign at the helm.[/p]
[p]Since he was appointed in late December, only five sides have accumulated more points than Valencia’s 33 (W9, D6, L5). Problems on the road have been evident all season though, with only Espanyol (12) and Valladolid (3) picking up fewer away points than Valencia’s 14 (W2, D8, L8), while they’ve won just once on their travels in La Liga against a side currently above them in the table (D3, L6).[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Betis’ Giovanni Lo Celso has scored the match opener on four occasions this term, with three of those coming in home games – his last four La Liga goals all arrived after half-time. After dropping to the bench against Athletic Club last week, Hugo Duro could be in line for a recall after an all-action display in the reverse fixture that saw him score twice, provide an assist and net an own goal![/p]
[p]Hot stat: Only Barcelona (15) have scored first in more La Liga home games than Betis (13) this season, but Betis failed to win six of those games (W7, D4, L2).[/p]
