Blackburn Huddersfield prediction 2022-11-05

Blackburn vs Huddersfield prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-11-04 15:00.
Though still hanging on to second place, Blackburn can ill-afford many more slip ups if they are to automatically rejoin the elite after what will be an 11-year absence next spring. They were shut out in a 1-0 defeat by a determined Coventry side in midweek, and will hope that home comforts provide the perfect tonic, with five straight home wins prior to this clash.

That was also the case at the start of 2022, ahead of last season’s battle with Huddersfield Town at Ewood Park. But the Terriers stubbed the Rovers’ run out with a 0-0 draw back then, and clearly wounded the Lancashire side, who scored more than one goal just once in the nine remaining home games, plummeting from the top-three to finish eighth, so they may want to avenge that result here.

Huddersfield’s status as the only side without an away win (D2, L5) makes it seems likely that Blackburn won’t need multiple goals to avoid another drab draw though. Now bottom of the table, they followed up a priceless-looking 1-0 victory over Millwall with a 2-0 home loss against Sunderland, despite creating nearly double the Wearsiders’ tally of dangerous attacks.

Much of Huddersfield’s sorry travelling record is down to slow starts, with the Yorkshiremen conceding first in every away defeat this term. Yet, there is some encouragement for the visitors, whose most recent away win after letting in the opener still only dates back to January, while Blackburn have netted first just once in the last five H2Hs here.

Players to watch: Both sides are set to deploy frontmen with a point to prove and a personal curse to break. Blackburn striker Jack Vale is yet to make the most of Sam Gallagher’s recent injury struggles, with no goals in nine Championship appearances this term, while former Rover Jordan Rhodes has failed to net against his old side in seven prior attempts.

Hot streak: Blackburn have neither scored nor conceded inside the first 15 minutes of a home game this term.
