Blackpool Hull prediction 2022-10-19

Blackpool vs Hull prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-18 18:45.
Blackpool manager Michael Appleton will be hoping for a little less “chaos” after his side finished with nine men and conceded a 90th-minute equaliser against Sheffield United at the weekend. Marvin Ekpiteta and Dominic Thompson were both sent off in the dramatic 3-3 draw at Bramall Lane, while Shayne Lavery received a red card after the final whistle, but this didn't stop the Tangerines extending their unbeaten run to three matches (W1, D2).

All three will be missing for the visit of Hull but that may not daunt Blackpool. They’ve not lost against the Tigers in 18 years, picking up six wins in the process (D5) including four at Bloomfield Road (D2). The Seasiders will be hoping that this historical form can help them turn around their fortunes on home turf this season after a torrid run has seen them win just twice in seven matches (D1, L4), though they did beat Watford 3-1 the last time they played here.

Hull make the trip to Blackpool with caretaker boss Andy Dawson desperate to cut out a “theme” of giving away “poor” goals. Their tally of 28 strikes conceded was the most in the division after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Birmingham, a result that left them dangling just a point above the relegation zone.

Kick off in that fixture was delayed due to an oversized goal – something that the Tigers could do with given they’ve now failed to score in six of their last seven matches (W1, L6)! Hull have also struggled on their travels, so will now need to arrest a shocking run of form that has seen them lose four successive away matches for the first time in 12 months if they’re to secure a potentially vital victory in their Championship campaign.

Key battle: Blackpool’s Jerry Yates, who has netted four goals in his last two games, has also scored twice in five appearances against Hull (W2, D3). Looking to thwart him will be Hull captain Lewie Coyle, who picked up one of his four career red cards against Blackpool last season, and has beaten the Tangerines just once in seven attempts (D2, L4).

Hot stat: If accounting for the first half only, Hull would have picked up fewer points (ten) than any other Championship team, having trailed at the break on eight occasions (W2, D4).
