Bochum Dortmund prediction 2023-08-26

Bochum vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-08-25 13:30.
Head coach Thomas Letsch will hope an inquest into Bochum’s harrowing start to the season can lead to an upturn in form. The manager did not hold back in his assessment of a 5-0 defeat to Stuttgart in their opening game of the campaign, admitting his Bochum side “have to question ourselves critically,” while Sport Managing Director Patrick Fabian branded the result a “debacle.”

Letsch might look to shake things up by handing full debuts to Noah Loosli and Lukas Daschner, who both came off the bench on the opening day. If selected, the pair will be hoping to help kickstart Bochum’s season, something the Blues may be confident of doing on their return to the Vonovia Ruhrstadion, where they have lost just four of their last 14 league outings (W8, D2).

Extending that run won’t be easy against ‘little’ Revierderby rivals Borussia Dortmund, who have been beaten in only two of the 16 H2Hs since 2003 (W8, D6). The visitors have also started the season in a much better fashion, hammering minnows Schott Mainz 6-1 in the DFB-Pokal, before opening the Bundesliga campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Cologne.

Head coach Edin Terzić will hope that result shows there’s no hangover from last season, when his side threw away the Bundesliga title by only drawing their final match against Mainz. Indeed, the boss says what happened in May is “extra motivation” as his side go in search of their first league title since 2011/12. The experience of summer signing Marcel Sabitzer, who made his debut against Cologne, will surely help in that regard, given he has been a league champion in both Germany and Austria.

Players to watch: Yet to get off the mark this season, six of Philipp Hofmann’s eight scoring appearances for Bochum have seen him net the first or last goal of the game. Looking to outgun him might be Dortmund’s SĂ©bastien Haller, who is on a phenomenal streak of just one defeat from the last 49 games in which he has scored (W44, D4).

Hot stat: Dortmund have netted at least twice in 18 of their last 21 Bundesliga fixtures.
