Bodo/Glimt PSV prediction 2022-11-03

Bodo/Glimt vs PSV prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2022-11-02 20:00.
With progression to the UEFA Europa League (UEL) knockout phase now impossible, it looks likely that perennial underdogs Bodø/Glimt have already done enough to secure the consolation prize of a transfer into the Europa Conference League (UECL). That is unless Zürich spring a surprise away to Arsenal in Group A’s other game, in which case a win against PSV will secure their safe passage.

There are just two games remaining in Bodø/Glimt’s domestic season and with their highest possible finish being second place, this could be their biggest remaining game of their 2022 campaign. In a blow to Bodø/Glimt’s hopes moving forward, influential attacker Ola Solbakken admitted his “story with Bodø has ended” ahead of his impending free transfer to Roma.

After famously scoring the penalty to end Arsenal’s 49-game unbeaten run in the Premier League back in 2004, PSV boss Ruud van Nistelrooy ended another Arsenal unbeaten streak as a manager with a 2-0 win in the last round. That result kept them in with a chance of winning the group should the Gunners slip up, but springtime UEL football is already assured for the Eindhoven outfit irrespective of the result here.

PSV have now scored five consecutive goals without reply across two victories, a run which stands them in good stead as they will have one eye on the all-important De Topper clash against Ajax at the weekend. Further boosting Dutch courage should be the fact that they’re unbeaten in over two thirds of their all-time UEL away games (W15, D5, L9), which includes just one defeat across the last seven trips (W2, D4).

Players to watch: Solbakken earned his move to Roma after scoring three times against them in last season’s UECL group stage, yet this will be his final European appearance for Bodø/Glimt. As for PSV, Luuk de Jong has returned from injury with a bang after contributing to both goals against Arsenal and helping his side to a commanding 3-0 Eredivisie win over NEC at the weekend with a goal.

Hot stat: Bodø/Glimt have won 14 of their last 15 European home games (L1) whilst scoring 2.8 goals per match on average across that run.
