Bologna vs Parma prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-10-05 13:00.
[p]While a 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Wednesday evening in UEFA Champions League action was expected, it does still mean that Bologna have now won just one of their first eight matches this season. There are two bits of good news for manager Vincenzo Italiano at least: his side have drawn five of the seven games that they’ve failed to win during his tenure and next, they face one of the seven teams below them in the current Serie A table heading into this weekend, Parma. [/p]
[p]Based on the H2H record, the Rossoblù will fancy their chances of getting their second victory of the campaign on the board here, as they haven’t been defeated in nine meetings against their upcoming opponents (W4, D5). That’s a run which includes doing the double over them the last time they crossed swords in 2020/21, whilst the fact that Italiano is also yet to lose against Parma during his managerial career (W1, D2) will further boost confidence. [/p]
[p]Parma though will be quietly confident of earning a rare win in this fixture and have so far acquitted themselves well on their return to Italy’s top flight. They’ve certainly been entertaining, and are one of four teams going into the weekend who have both scored and conceded at least ten times in Serie A this season, but head coach Fabio Pecchia will be frustrated that his side have already dropped eight points from winning positions in 2024/25 – the worst record after six games in the division this term.[/p]
[p]Bologna are the joint second-worst side in this regard however, which should console Parma somewhat, while Sunday’s visitors earned a dramatic point on their last away trip against Lecce thanks to goals in the 93rd and 95th minutes. Don’t be surprised if the 2023/24 Serie B champions start fast here instead, as they scored inside 25 minutes in their first four matches of this league campaign.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Dan Ndoye’s last five goalscoring appearances at club level have seen him end up on the winning side, while Parma’s Hernani marked his first home start of the season by converting a penalty against Cagliari, but he’s never emerged victorious against Bologna (D2, L3).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: There have been five second-half red cards in Parma’s six league matches this term. [/p]
