Brentford Wolves prediction 2024-10-05

Brentford vs Wolves prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-10-04 14:00.
[p]It’s proven to be a very mixed start to the Premier League season for Brentford, who after drawing 1-1 at home with West Ham last time out, have taken seven points from their opening six league games (W2, D1, L3). That tally is perhaps better than some may have expected after star striker Ivan Toney left the club at the end of the summer transfer window, and manager Thomas Frank was quick to point out after Saturday’s stalemate that what his club continue to achieve is “unbelievably fantastic”.[/p]

[p]In their latest match against the Hammers, Brentford became the first side in Premier League history to score in the opening minute in three consecutive games, and they’ll be hoping to produce another quick start here to extend their unbeaten home league run to four matches (W2, D1). That could also help the Bees to win successive league games against Wolves for the first time since the 2015/16 season and further push themselves up the standings in the process.  [/p]

[p]Wolves will be absolutely desperate to finally get off the mark in this latest outing though, as they’ve failed to win any of their opening six league matches this campaign (D1, L5). Despite producing an admirable display last time out against Liverpool, Gary O’Neil’s side again fell to defeat (1-2), and now the pressure is well and truly building as they look to avoid beginning a top-flight campaign winless in seven matches for the first time since 2003/04.[/p]

[p]That season ultimately ended in a last-placed finish and fans won’t necessarily be confident of snapping their winless start by taking to the road, as their ten games without victory away from home has made following the club on their travels a miserable experience of late (D3, L7). One small crumb of comfort for their under-fire boss could instead be found when looking at their recent H2H record, as Wolves are unbeaten across their last six visits to Brentford (W3, D3), winning this fixture 4-1 last term. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: After scoring in the opening minute at the weekend, Bryan Mbeumo has now been directly involved in 48 Premier League goals for Brentford (G27, A21), overtaking Toney into top spot for the club. Mario Lemina found the back of the net for Wolves in their 4-1 win in this H2H last season – the London side are one of just six teams he’s scored against in the Premier League. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Five of Brentford’s six Premier League matches this term have seen both teams score, with all six also featuring at least one first-half goal. [/p]
