Brest Auxerre prediction 2025-02-14

Brest vs Auxerre prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-02-13 19:45.
[p]After winning four of their last five Ligue 1 matches (L1), Brest are moving closer to the European qualification places in a season of mostly all-or-nothing as they’ve only drawn one league game this term (W10, L10)! But it’s not an entirely happy camp with manager Éric Roy upset about playing this game just three days after the first leg of their UEFA Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain (L 3-0).[/p]

[p]Fans of the Pirates will expect their side to shake off any European hangover given they’re unbeaten across the last five occasions they hosted Auxerre, although only one of those games produced more than one goal (W3, D2)! At least recent league affairs at Stade Francis-Le Blé have been more entertaining, with the last four producing an average of 4.75 goals per game![/p]

[p]If Brest are on the back foot following their midweek travails, then Auxerre may sense an opportunity to end their run of winless matches in all competitions that stretches back to late November (D5, L5). They’re still only seven points behind Brest and knocking on the door of the top half of the table despite that poor run, so there’s still hope of a strong finish to 2024/25.[/p]

[p]Improving their form on the road will help, as only Montpellier and Saint-Étienne have inferior Ligue 1 away records than Christophe Pélissier’s side this term (W1, D1, L8). Their impressive 3-1 win at Marseille in November now looks like a false dawn as they’ve lost their last four league road games by a two-goal margin, meaning that only the most die-hard Auxerre fan will travel west with much optimism.[/p]

[p]Key battle: Ludovic Ajorque has scored in each of Brest’s last five league games, twice in the 25th minute and twice between the 70th and 75th minute. Auxerre centre-back Jubal will be trying to keep him quiet, but after scoring in his last two games, could threaten at the other end too – two of his three goals this term came between the 35th minute and half-time.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Brest have earned exactly four corners in five of their last six league games (W4, L2).[/p]
