Brest Montpellier prediction 2025-05-04

Brest vs Montpellier prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2025-05-03 15:15.
[p]An ill-timed run of three games without a win (D1, L2) may have extinguished Brest’s dreams of qualifying for European football, but the Pirates are unlikely to make their head coach walk the plank. Éric Roy is out of contract at the end of the campaign, yet reports in France suggest he is set to sign a new deal as the club look to tie down the manager who guided them to a UEFA Champions League debut this season.[/p]

[p]A repeat will not be happening this year, as a 4-1 defeat against Marseille last time out means they have slipped ten points adrift of the European qualification spots with just three rounds remaining. It’s at the back where Brest have suddenly begun to struggle, conceding ten goals across their winless run while also going five matches without a clean sheet.[/p]

[p]Brest will be odds on to return to winning ways against Montpellier, who will finish bottom of Ligue 1 no matter what happens between now and the end of the season. A measly return of 16 points from 31 matches has ended their 16-year stay in the top flight, but a 0-0 draw with Reims last time out at least ended a miserable run of 11 successive defeats.[/p]

[p]It was also their first point under new manager Zoumana Camara and a first clean sheet since April 2024! Following that up on the road appears highly unlikely as no side in Europe’s traditional top-five leagues have won fewer away points than Montpellier this term (W1, L14), with a paltry six goals netted across those 15 matches highlighting partly why they’ve struggled so much.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Brest’s top scorer Ludovic Ajorque has netted in three of his last five league H2Hs, but finished on the winning side in only one of those games (D1, L3). Three of Jordan Ferri’s four Montpellier goals have opened the scoring in away matches, but he’s blanked in his last 28 appearances for La Paillade.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Montpellier have failed to score in a league-high 18 matches this season, 11 of which came on the road.[/p]
