Brest vs Rennes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-10-18 15:00.
[p]Two teams who have already lost four league games this season, but currently sit in mid-table regardless, meet at the Stade Francis-Le Blé on Saturday as Brest take on Rennes. After a tough start which saw them win only one of their first five games across all competitions this term (D1, L3), and lose 5-1 at home to Marseille during the opening round of fixtures, the home side have bounced back with four victories across their last five (L1).[/p]
[p]In front of their home fans, Brest have won four in a row and are targeting a fourth successive league victory at this venue without conceding! However, when it comes to hosting their Brittany rivals it has been a different story of late, with no H2H league wins at home across their last seven meetings (D3, L4) and with their last Ligue 1 victory in this fixture coming all the way back during the 2010/11 season.[/p]
[p]Similarly, Rennes’ recent away form doesn’t correlate with their historic success on the north west coast and they are yet to pick up a point from their first three fixtures on the road this season. Their overall form also remains poor as after beating Lyon in the season opener, the Red and Blacks have produced a three-point haul in just one other game (D1, L4).[/p]
[p]Off the field, there have been changes and Arnaud Pouille, previously general manager at Lens, has been appointed as CEO and was presented to the press last week. Although Pouille had some warm words for manager Julien Stéphan, he could have perhaps given him stronger backing, and with only five wins from his last 19 league matches in charge, the coach will bring his side to Brest knowing that he needs to arrest their current slump at the earliest opportunity. [/p]
[p]Players to watch: Mahdi Camara scored in the reverse fixture last season and Brest hold an excellent winning record in games that he scores (W8, D1, L1). Arnaud Kalimuendo scored twice in the opening nine minutes the last time he took on Brest, but he‘s experienced victory in only one of his last five H2Hs (D1, L3).[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Rennes have conceded 2+ goals in each of their last five Ligue 1 away games (W1, L4).[/p]
