Brighton Burnley prediction 2023-12-09

Brighton vs Burnley prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-12-08 15:00.
[p]Sitting firmly in the hunt for the European places once again, things are looking up for Brighton ahead of the visit of relegation battling Burnley. It would be fair to say the Seagulls have struggled at times to balance their European and domestic endeavours this season, and they’ve almost certainly favoured their continental exploits, as they’ve won more Europa League games (three) than Premier League (PL) ones since the start of October (two).[/p]

[p]But perhaps the south coast club are finally starting to find the right formula as they’ve only lost once in their last nine games (W5, D3), with a 2-1 midweek home victory over Brentford keeping Brighton in touch with the top four. The recent H2H history at the Amex would suggest they’ll have their work cut out to not lose ground this weekend, with the Seagulls last beating Burnley on home turf way back in August 2013 (D4, L2 since), although much has changed since that meeting ten years ago.[/p]

[p]That H2H record will offer Burnley a small grain of hope ahead of the journey south, and given their perilous position in the table, it’s one of few sources of inspiration they have. It’s a second away trip in succession for Vincent Kompany’s side, who went down 1-0 at Wolves in midweek, but the boss urged his side to “take belief” from defeat in spite of yet another glaring error costing them dearly.[/p]

[p]That catalogue of errors perhaps explains why Burnley have secured just one PL clean sheet all season, although that was against a ten-man Sheffield United – the only side below them in the table. Four successive league defeats on the road only serve to reinforce belief that another here is unlikely, as should the fact eight of their nine Saturday 3pm PL kick-offs this season saw them concede at least twice. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Brighton’s teenage sensation Jack Hinshelwood has been handed a chance amidst a lengthy injury list, and he netted his first senior goal in midweek. Nine years his senior, Josh Brownhill was in the thick of the action of Burnley’s last visit to the Amex (W 3-0), scoring and collecting a yellow card.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Four of Brighton’s last five home games officiated by Simon Hooper ended level (L1).[/p]
