Brighton vs Chelsea prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-02-13 20:00.
[p]Less than a week after Brighton beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Amex Stadium in the FA Cup fourth round, the two sides meet again at the same venue on Friday evening. This will be the second time this season that the Seagulls have taken on the same opposition in back-to-back fixtures, and they have already fared better in this match-up than the successive defeats they posted against Liverpool earlier this term.[/p]
[p]With three points up for grabs in this contest, Brighton will be looking to end a run of five winless home league games (D3, L2), and manager Fabian Hürzeler will also be looking for a reaction in their first league match following their 7-0 drubbing at Nottingham Forest. Getting a reaction against an illustrious opponent can’t be ruled out, as Brighton are unbeaten in Premier League home games against teams starting the day in the top four (W2, D1) so far this campaign. [/p]
[p]Chelsea will arrive on the south coast perched fourth and two points ahead of Manchester City in fifth but without an away win across all competitions since mid-December (D2, L3). Their downturn in away form certainly isn’t timely, particularly as their remaining seven away league games this season all come against sides currently sat 11th or higher in the table![/p]
[p]The Blues have struggled post-Christmas, as after posting a 12-match unbeaten run (W9, D3) throughout November and into late December, they have won just two of their seven league games from Boxing Day onwards (D2, L3). Four successive H2H wins before the weekend’s reversal would suggest they have what it takes to continue their revival here having won two of their last three league outings.[/p]
[p]Players to watch: Since signing in the summer, Georginio Rutter has contributed to ten goals (G7, A3) across all competitions with three of them (G2, A1) coming against Chelsea after he was involved in both goals last Saturday. Rutter opened the scoring in the reverse league H2H but was upstaged by Cole Palmer, who scored all four of Chelsea’s goals in their 4-2 win and was also on target in this fixture last season. [/p]
[p]Hot stat: Brighton are the only Premier League team yet to score in the opening 20 minutes of a home league game this season.[/p]
