Brighton Crystal Palace prediction 2024-12-15

Brighton vs Crystal Palace prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-12-14 14:00.
[p]Premier League rivals Brighton and Crystal Palace renew hostilities at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, with the hosts looking for a third successive H2H league victory on their own turf. They last managed a longer such streak between 1979 and 1988 (seven), but a 2-2 draw with Leicester last week – in which they conceded twice beyond the 85th minute to squander the win – may have dented confidence in Fabian HĂĽrzeler’s squad.[/p]

[p]The German is overseeing the joint-longest winless run of his tenure (D2, L1), but as they’re one of three sides in the division yet to be beaten at home as of the start of the round (W3, D4), the Brighton faithful will be expecting a return to winning ways. That’s not always been the case when they take on sides in the bottom-four, with the Seagulls being held to draws in each of their last five such fixtures.[/p]

[p]Visitors Crystal Palace will be keen to escape the clutches of the relegation zone, though a four-match unbeaten run has at least earned them a four-point gap ahead of the weekend (W1, D3). Oliver Glasner’s men held defending champions Manchester City to a 2-2 draw last weekend, but the Austrian was left with mixed emotions as the Eagles took the lead twice.[/p]

[p]Palace will be keen to build momentum on the road where their active three-match unbeaten run is their best such streak since early 2022 (W1, D2). Securing a first set of back-to-back away wins since April 2023 would therefore be timely, not least because Palace have failed to win any of the last six H2Hs at any venue (D4, L2).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Brighton captain Lewis Dunk opened the scoring in the last meeting between the sides in February (W 4-1), with that his first goal in 16 H2Hs against Palace (W4, D7, L5) – two of his five senior red cards have come against the Eagles. Visiting midfielder Will Hughes has faced no opposition more often than Brighton (17), and arrives in good form after grabbing a pair of assists against City last week.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Brighton have dropped 14 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season. Only Fulham and Ipswich had surrendered more going into this round.[/p]
