Burnley Brighton prediction 2024-04-13

Burnley vs Brighton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-04-12 14:00.
[p]After a 1-0 defeat to fellow relegation battlers Everton left Burnley effectively seven points from safety given their vastly inferior goal difference, even the most devout Clarets fans are starting to accept that their time in the top-flight is nearly up. In the incredibly unlikely event they survive from here, it would be the greatest escape the Premier League has ever witnessed, but boss Vincent Kompany insists his side will “keep going” in the face of adversity. [/p]

[p]They now return home to face Brighton knowing that avoiding defeat would hand them their longest unbeaten home league run of the season so far after a win and a draw against Brentford and Wolves respectively in their last two such outings. Another draw here would seem the most likely outcome if history is to be believed, as six of the 11 Premier League H2Hs between these two sides have ended level, including this season’s reverse (BUR: W3, L2).[/p]

[p]A draw here won’t suffice for Brighton, who know they need to level up that H2H record if they’re to have any chance of breaking into the top six. A 3-0 defeat at home to Arsenal last weekend certainly hurt their chances, while one win from six in the league (D2, L3) is hardly the form of European chasers. They may fancy their chances here though given their last three top-flight wins came against sides starting the round in the bottom seven. [/p]

[p]The Seagulls have some wretched away league form to overcome if they’re to beat another basement dweller, with just one win from their last ten such games (D3, L6). Sluggish starts often haven’t helped them in that sense this season, with their 16 first-half away league goals conceded second only to Nottingham Forest (19), while three of their last four visits to Turf Moor also saw them concede before the break. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Burnley’s Lyle Foster still awaits his first goal of 2024, but given three of his four scoring appearances this season ended in defeat, a goal from him may not be a great omen. Brighton’s Simon Adingra scored in the reverse fixture and he’s netted five of his six league goals this term against newly-promoted clubs.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: None of the last eight H2Hs have been won by the home team on the day. [/p]
