Burnley Everton prediction 2023-12-16

Burnley vs Everton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-12-15 17:30.
[p]Although still inside the relegation zone, there are signs that Burnley are slowly starting to get to grips with the Premier League (PL) again after they held a strong Brighton side to a 1-1 draw down on the south coast last weekend. They’ve now avoided defeat in two of their last three matches (W1), although manager Vincent Kompany would have still been left frustrated by his side surrendering another lead in Saturday’s draw, meaning the Clarets have now dropped 16 PL points from winning positions this season, the joint-most of any side coming into the round. [/p]

[p]This game against Everton is a chance for the Lancashire club to secure successive PL home wins for the first time since April 2022, but it won’t be easy given the form of the visitors. You could say history is on Burnley’s side though, with the Clarets having won five of their eight PL home games against the Merseyside club (D1, L2) which is more victories than they’ve managed against any other opponent at Turf Moor in the competition.[/p]

[p]Everton’s impressive 2-0 win against Chelsea on Sunday capped off a fine week in which they secured three victories without conceding a single goal. You’d have to go back to December 2020 under Carlo Ancelotti for the last time Everton won four PL games on the bounce, while the Toffees have not done so without conceding since November 2002 – a streak of five winning games under David Moyes. [/p]

[p]This game will be manager Sean Dyche’s first at Turf Moor since he left Burnley in April 2022 after a nine-and-a-half year stint, although the former Clarets boss played down any sentimental value to the fixture earlier this week by admitting “he had a fantastic time” there, before unequivocally stating Everton was his only focus now. And with his side having won four of their last five PL games on the road, he’ll fancy his chances of making it a happy return. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Exciting teenager Wilson Odobert has scored in two of his three Premier League starts for Burnley this season while the influential Abdoulaye Doucouré has scored 34% of all Everton’s PL goals under Sean Dyche (11/32). [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Everton’s last eight PL goals have arrived after half-time. [/p]
