Burnley Norwich prediction 2022-10-25

Burnley vs Norwich prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-24 19:00.
They say football can be a game of two halves, and it was just that for Burnley at the weekend, going in 2-0 down at half-time against Sunderland only to score four unanswered second half goals to leave the North East with a 4-2 victory. Clarets boss Vincent Kompany admitted he “hated” his side’s first half performance, but considering Burnley have only led at the break in two of their seven Championship home games this season (HT: D4, L1), there's no guarantee of a better start against Norwich.

Fast starts or not, there’s no denying Burnley are red-hot at the moment and they boast the longest current unbeaten league run in the EFL, having not tasted defeat in 13 games following a 1-0 defeat at Watford in August (W6, D7). It’s only those draws that have prevented Burnley from establishing a healthy lead atop the table and considering they are unbeaten in seven league H2Hs against Norwich (W6, D1), Kompany will be eyeing up extending that undefeated run and taking top spot in the process.

Norwich have put together a run of their own, albeit a poor one, as they’re winless in five league matches which culminated in them blowing a 2-0 lead against Sheffield United on Saturday to draw 2-2. The weekend’s stalemate was the continuation of an ugly habit of scoring first yet failing to see out a game for Norwich, who did hit the front in three of those five winless matches (D2, L1).

Teemu Pukki went on to miss a late penalty, which just about sums up Norwich’s luck at the moment and with pressure mounting on boss Dean Smith, the Canaries boss is entering ‘must-win’ territory. Perhaps Burnley are the ideal opponent then, with Smith winning two of his last four personal H2Hs (D1, L1), though he did lose 3-2 on his last visit to Turf Moor whilst in charge of Aston Villa.

Players to watch: Anass Zaroruy scored the match winner against Sunderland, and his two goals for Burnley have each been his side’s third of the day. Meanwhile, Norwich’s Pukki scored a brace against Sheffield United and netted the last goal of the game in the previous H2H.

Hot stat: Burnley’s six Championship goals scored in the 15 minutes following half-time is a joint league high.
