Burnley QPR prediction 2023-04-22

Burnley vs QPR prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-04-21 14:00.
With two successive draws ending Burnley’s prospects of matching or breaking the Championship points record, the Clarets are simply now just playing for the title. That’s a feat they can wrap up here against QPR by simply winning the game and Burnley have proved in the past they can win big matches here against the R’s, beating them at Turf Moor in 2015/16 to wrap up promotion to the Premier League!

The omens don’t stop there either, as almost poetically, boss Vincent Kompany famously won a league title against QPR back in 2011/12 whilst playing for Manchester City. Kompany will hope this clash doesn’t require the late drama of Sergio Agüero’s 94th minute winner on that day, but considering the fact Burnley are the only team in England’s top-four tiers still unbeaten in home league action this season (W15, D6), you’d certainly back them to claim the title here either way.

While Burnley know they’ll be playing Premier League football next season, QPR are looking anxiously over their shoulder towards League One after again failing to win in midweek, squandering a lead to draw 1-1 against Norwich. Interestingly, when these two sides met back in December only ten points separated them in the table, where a whopping 48 points now divide these teams, highlighting just how far QPR have fallen in the space of five months.

You’d also have to go back to December for QPR’s last away league win, and perhaps a grain of hope can be taken from the fact that also came in Lancashire, a 1-0 victory against Preston. That optimism is quickly dampened by the fact it’s their only triumph in 14 away league games (D5, L8) and things are unlikely to get much better at Turf Moor, where they have scored just once in the last five H2Hs (D1, L4).

Players to watch: JĂłhann Berg GuĂ°mundsson was at the double in his last Turf Moor outing, his third scoring appearance this term to see him open the scoring, including in the reverse fixture. Goals are at a premium for QPR, but if Lyndon Dykes is to get one it will likely arrive sooner rather than later, with his last five club goals arriving before half-time.

Hot stat: QPR have conceded a league-high ten away league goals in the opening 15 minutes this season.
