Cannes Reims prediction 2025-04-02

Cannes vs Reims prediction: FRANCE: Coupe de France betting tips on match 2025-04-01 19:00.
[p]After knocking Ligue 2 trio Grenoble, Lorient and Guingamp out of the Coupe de France, fourth-tier Cannes have sensationally made it to the semi-finals in their bid to become the lowest-ranked side ever to win the competition. To reach the final first and foremost, they’ll have  to overcome their first Ligue 1 opponents of the season in Reims, but Damien Ott’s men are unlikely to be daunted by the task in front of them having scored 15 goals across their five home cup ties in 2024/25, albeit without keeping a clean sheet. [/p]

[p]Cannes’ league promotion push has been hit hard by back-to-back defeats in their last two games, but the last of those losses was 11 days before kick-off here. Both of those defeats came by 1-0 scorelines, and goals may be similarly hard to come by here, given the last two H2Hs – both in 2009/10 – ended 0-0.[/p]

[p]Reims enjoyed their most recent outing as they unexpectedly beat high-flying Marseille 3-1 in Ligue 1 to end an eye-watering run of 15 league games without tasting victory (D6, L9). Their route to this stage of the Coupe de France has been less smooth than that of their upcoming opponents, as they needed to win a penalty shootout in each of the last three rounds to progress to this semi-final. [/p]

[p]One thing that has characterised Reims’ away performances lately has been a lack of attacking potency, especially in the first half, as they have failed to score before the break in their last seven road trips. Securing an early advantage here could be huge, as when Reims have gone 1-0 up this term at any venue, the Red and Whites have usually seen things out, winning seven of their ten games (D2, L1) when opening the scoring in normal time. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Chafik Abbas has scored four times across the last three rounds of Cannes’ cup run, with his five goals overall in the competition this season all coming in the first half. Keito Nakamura became the first Reims player to find the net in more than a month over the weekend, and five of his last six goals have come away from home. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Fourteen of Cannes’ last 18 Coupe de France goals have been scored in the first half. [/p]
