Cardiff Coventry prediction 2022-10-15

Cardiff vs Coventry prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-14 14:00.
Cardiff City’s three-game unbeaten run (W2, D1) since sacking Steve Morison has lifted them up the Championship standings after they beat Wigan 3-1 in a game where one goal frame was two inches higher than the other! That didn’t hamper Cardiff, whose third goal ironically went in off the underside of the crossbar in question, leaving interim manager Mark Hudson pleased with how his side had “dug deep” on the road, doing his chances of earning the permanent role no harm either.

He might be a dead cert for the permanent job if he can get the Bluebirds scoring more frequently at home because Cardiff haven’t scored more than once in any of their last nine home league fixtures (W3, D3, L3)! Recent home results have been solid, with just one defeat here this term (W3, D2) but the visit of Coventry City could be just what they need in a goal scoring sense, after netting at least twice in each of the last six H2Hs they’ve hosted (W5, D1).

Coventry went down 1-0 to Burnley last time out, a result that left them six points from safety, albeit having played fewer games than everyone else so far due to several home postponements at the start of the season. With reports of American billionaire John McEvoy considering buying the club, the future could be brighter for the Sky Blues, particularly if manager Mark Robins sticks around despite links with other managerial vacancies.

After a brace of goalless draws on the road in the league, Coventry are proving hard to beat away from home but still haven’t won an away league game since April (D6, L3). With that dire H2H record on Cardiff soil also counting against them, this could be another testing afternoon for the Championship’s basement side who will still be holding up the league irrespective of the result here.

Players to watch: Callum Robinson has scored Cardiff’s first of the game in two of their last three matches, while Coventry’s Viktor Gyökeres also likes to start fast, netting inside 20 minutes in two of Coventry’s last five games.

Hot streak: Cardiff have scored after the 80th minute in each of their last three league games.
