Cardiff Hull prediction 2022-11-08

Cardiff vs Hull prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-11-07 19:45.
Cardiff City collected their fifth 1-0 win of the Championship season, and their third under caretaker boss Mark Hudson (W4, D1, L4), with Perry Ng a shining light in their recent victory against Sunderland that ended a period of four losses in the five prior Championship games. Ng himself admitted last week that the extended period without a permanent manager feels somewhat destabilising, but fortunately the results are beginning to speak for themselves.

Two home fixtures in five days looks a valuable opportunity for bottom-half Cardiff to enter their month-long break in a far more comfortable position, giving them time to either sign or replace Hudson. Warm favourites here, Cardiff ought to be confident of winning the first of those two against Hull City, as they boast three wins from four Championship starts as a home favourite (L1) this season.

Hull ended their own managerial uncertainty a week ago with the signing of Liam Rosenior, who impressed as a replacement for Wayne Rooney at Derby last season (W7, D2, L3 in all competitions). The future already looks brighter for Hull, as despite taking charge of just two training sessions and playing with ten men for more than 50 minutes, Rosenior inspired the Tigers to their first clean sheet in 17 Championship matches (0-0 vs Millwall).

After the loss of their influential striker Óscar Estupiñán prior to half-time, scoring in that game away to Millwall was always going to be a tough task. Missing here, Estupiñán failed to score as a substitute in their commanding October away wins against fellow bottom-half clubs Rotherham (4-2) and Blackpool (3-1), so another three away points is certainly within reach if they can repeat the defensive efforts of the weekend.

Key battle: Having scored in three Championship victories this season, Cardiff could certainly benefit from Mark Harris netting in back-to-back league appearances for the first time since August 2019 (for Wrexham). He’ll have a tough time against Hull defender Jacob Greaves, who was second in the league for total tackles made (52) at the end of the weekend.

Hot stat: Cardiff and Hull have led at half-time on just three occasions each this Championship season, but both have a 100% win record when doing so.
