Cardiff Sheffield Utd prediction 2022-11-12

Cardiff vs Sheffield Utd prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-11-11 15:00.
A 3-2 defeat to Hull City, after leading until the 75th minute, saw Cardiff City slip down to 18th place in the Championship and continue their sequence of alternating between wins and losses over the last five games. They might not be panicking yet as their 24-point haul is three points more than they achieved at this stage of last season when they went on to finish 18th, but fans are yearning for more, with club owner Vincent Tan stating "a big part of my wealth is invested here" amidst criticism of his position.

Current interim boss Mark Hudson has been offered the role until the end of the season and he’ll be aiming to fix some recent torrid home form with his Bluebirds having won just two of their previous eight (D2, L4) Championship games at Cardiff City Stadium this campaign. A blunt-looking frontline which has scored just nine goals in ten league home games this season hasn’t helped, albeit they’ve at least netted in their last three.

Sheffield United might be kicking themselves as they missed the chance to go top of the Championship after losing out 1-0 to Rotherham, who triumphed at Bramall Lane for the first time in 42 years last Tuesday. This led to manager Paul Heckingbottom criticising the performance, admitting they didn’t "play with the same pace and energy’’ as usual.

His side have won the joint-most away games (five) and conceded fewer away goals (eight) than any other Championship side ahead of this round. But maybe most worrying for the hosts is the fact that Sheffield United have conceded just three first-half away goals this campaign, whilst Cardiff have only scored two first-half goals at home themselves, so perhaps we shouldn’t expect an electrifying start here!

Key battle: Cardiff might rely on goalkeeper Ryan Allsop to stop Sheffield United’s in-form Iliman Ndiaye with the keeper having not conceded against the player in three meetings. Cardiff will need to be wary though, as Ndiaye has four goal contributions from his last four outings (G3, A1) and scored in a 1-0 victory over the Bluebirds in his only appearance against them last season!

Hot streak: Each of Cardiff’s four home wins and all five of Sheffield United’s away wins this league campaign have come ‘to nil’!
