Celta Vigo Espanyol prediction 2025-04-12

Celta Vigo vs Espanyol prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2025-04-11 16:30.
[p]Celta Vigo’s brilliant ongoing run of eight La Liga games unbeaten (W5, D3) means that they occupied a European qualification place ahead of this weekend after a 2-1 defeat to Valencia in early February left them dangerously close to the relegation zone. What is particularly impressive about the form of Claudio Giráldez’s men is that three of those five victories saw them come from behind, with the highlight being their recovery from 2-0 down to defeat Real Betis 3-2.[/p]

[p]Their overall improvement is underlined by a 15-game stretch in this competition without conceding 3+ goals since the Sky Blues lost 3-1 to upcoming opponents Espanyol in late November. This has been a tough matchup in recent years for Celta, who have won just two of the last 13 H2Hs (D7, L4), but with both teams scoring in 11 of those 13 games, neutral fans could at least be in for a treat.[/p]

[p]Espanyol’s form has not been quite as eye-catching as Celta’s, but they are enjoying a mini-revival of their own as they attempt to avoid finishing in the bottom-three following their promotion back to La Liga last summer. Impressive 1-1 home draws against both Athletic Bilbao and Atlético Madrid were followed by a 4-0 thumping of Rayo Vallecano to kick off April, meaning that Manolo González’s men are now four points above the relegation zone. [/p]

[p]A win at Balaídos on Saturday would not only further alleviate Espanyol’s concerns about an immediate return to Spain’s second tier, but it would also see them secure back-to-back La Liga away victories for the first time since May 2018, along with earning them their first league double over Celta since the 2006/07 season![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Fer LĂłpez came off the bench last Saturday at Mallorca to score the winner – his first-ever league goal for Celta’s senior team. A more regular feature on the scoresheet, Javi Puado has now recorded 10+ goals in a La Liga campaign for the very first time – his last three have come from the penalty spot.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: In Espanyol’s last seven games, the designated away side scored at least once.[/p]
