Chelsea Leicester prediction 2025-03-09

Chelsea vs Leicester prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-03-08 14:00.
[p]After beating Southampton 4-0 in the Premier League and winning 2-1 at Copenhagen in the UEFA Conference League in midweek, Chelsea should come into this fixture with struggling Leicester on a high. But while the Blues haven’t lost more than once against promoted sides in the same Premier League campaign since 2012/13, their 2-0 defeat to Ipswich in December should serve as a reminder not to take anything for granted.[/p]

[p]Chelsea have only been beaten twice at Stamford Bridge in the league this season (W7, D4), and are now targeting four successive Premier League wins here for the first time since a run of five that ended in May. As Enzo Maresca prepares to welcome the side who he guided to the Championship title last term, his current club are also unbeaten across the last four league H2Hs here (W2, D2), although they did concede exactly once in each.[/p]

[p]After four league defeats in a row while conceding at least twice, Leicester are running out of time in their battle to survive as they ended the last matchday five points adrift of safety. Manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy maintains his team are “still in the fight” but they are seemingly lacking much ammunition as all four of those losses came without them finding the back of the net.[/p]

[p]Even their 2-1 win at Tottenham at the end of January (L2 since) feels like a long time ago, and the only other team the Foxes have beaten on the road this term in the Premier League are bottom-of-the-table Southampton (D2, L9). They have at least scored in each of their last six visits to Stamford Bridge (W1, D2, L3), but nine failures to score from their last 12 league games would hint even getting on the scoresheet will be a tall order here.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Enzo Fernández, who scored Chelsea’s second in November’s reverse fixture (W 2-1), has netted in two of Chelsea’s last three games and been booked in three of his last four appearances in all competitions. Jordan Ayew was Leicester’s goalscorer in November’s H2H, and three of his four league goals this term have arrived in second-half injury time![/p]

[p]Hot streak: Leicester have failed to score before half-time in any of their last nine Premier League matches.[/p]
