Clermont Toulouse prediction 2024-03-31

Clermont vs Toulouse prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-03-30 13:00.
[p]In spite of playing the final hour with ten men, bottom of the table Clermont breathed life into their Ligue 1 survival prospects with a hugely important 2-1 win over Le Havre during their last outing. After eight games without a victory prior (D3, L5), the win has given the Lancers a shot at survival and, ahead of this round of fixtures, they lurk just five points away from the relegation play-off spot prior to the visit of Toulouse on Sunday.[/p]

[p]Although one win – only their fourth of the season – should not be overplayed, Pascal Gastien’s side have now scored in six successive home fixtures (W1, D2, L3), a vast improvement from their previous run of one goal struck across their prior seven home games (W1, D2, L4)! They also have a strong recent record against Toulouse (W2, D1), including a memorable 95th minute equaliser when they came back from 2-0 down in September, which should offer additional inspiration. [/p]

[p]Carles Martínez Novell’s side make the trip northwards after suffering back-to-back defeats, with their latest loss at home against Lyon coming in spite of leading 2-1 with 13 minutes remaining. Prior to these defeats, Toulouse had won three league games in succession and five from their previous seven in Ligue 1, but ahead of this round they still only hold a four point cushion to the relegation play-off place.[/p]

[p]Les Violets, who finished in 13th place on their return to the top flight last season, are currently on track to better that finish in this campaign, but they were beaten 1-0 in their last away game by Le Havre. They’ve also not won on any of their last three visits to Clermont (D1, L2) with their last victory at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied coming all the way back in 2003![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Muhammed Cham struck both goals in the win over Le Havre, but Clermont have now failed to keep a clean sheet in the last five games that he’s scored (W4, L1). Thijs Dallinga has contributed a goal or an assist in six of the last nine games, with ten of his last 11 goals for Toulouse coming after half-time.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Toulouse have failed to score a first-half goal in seven of their last eight games.[/p]
