Coventry Blackpool prediction 2022-10-29

Coventry vs Blackpool prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-28 14:00.
After a miserable start to the season, Coventry City are enjoying a resurgence and have lost just once across their last nine games (W4, D4). An almost air-tight defence has been crucial to that form, as they’ve conceded just five goals in that run. All of their four wins this season have come ‘to nil’, but their disrupted opening to the campaign means the Sky Blues remain inside the Championship relegation zone having played at least two games less than the sides above them.

A victory here could move them out of the drop zone if results elsewhere go their way, but that’s something they’ve managed on home soil against Blackpool just once since 2009 (D3, L1). With the pitch at the Coventry Building Society Arena now in good working order, Mark Robins will be determined to inspire better fortunes on their own turf, as a return of five home league wins this calendar year is a source of particular disappointment (D4, L7).

A huge amount of pressure was lifted from Michael Appletion’s shoulders as his Blackpool side ended a run of just one win from seven games last time out. A crunch 4-2 victory over bitter rivals Preston North End left the Tangerines boss feeling ‘fantastic’, although his team remained just two points clear of Coventry and the relegation zone.

Travel sickness has started to set in for Blackpool of late, who haven’t won away from Bloomfield Road since early September. Their last road trip saw Sheffield United snatch a 98th minute equaliser in a 3-3 draw which saw three red cards dished out, so the Seasiders are used to plenty of entertainment away from home. That was part of a run of eight goals conceded from their last four games on their travels, something Coventry will surely be looking to exploit.

Players to watch: Coventry forward Viktor Gyökeres netted in both H2Hs last season as his side went unbeaten in this fixture. Also on target was Blackpool’s Gary Madine, who is yet to lose across three personal H2Hs against the Sky Blues (W1, D2).

Hot stat: Blackpool have been issued four red cards this season, more than any other side in the Championship.
