Coventry Cardiff prediction 2024-04-01

Coventry vs Cardiff prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-03-31 14:00.
[p]After defeating strugglers Huddersfield 3-1 on Good Friday, Coventry remain hot on Norwich’s heels in the race to finish in the Championship play-off places. The Sky Blues are in fine form having won four consecutive matches – scoring 13 goals in the process – and will no doubt be confident of racking up a fifth straight win for the first time since October 2018. [/p]

[p]To achieve that feat, Coventry must overcome Cardiff, an opponent they are unbeaten against in their last four home league H2Hs (W2, D2). That said, September’s reverse fixture saw Mark Robins’ men slip to a 3-2 loss in which two of the five goals came after the 80th minute. That’s been a common theme, as the Sky Blues’ matches have seen 24 goals in that period this season – the joint-highest figure in the division heading into Easter Monday. [/p]

[p]By contrast, Cardiff are in a bit of slump, as four successive victories have been followed by back-to-back 2-0 defeats to effectively end their hopes of finishing in the top-six. Manager Erol Bulut didn’t hold back assessing his side’s performance against Sunderland, stating “it hurts” after witnessing another underwhelming display.[/p]

[p]Getting his side scoring would be the perfect antidote, but that’s been a problem all season long with only five teams netting fewer Championship goals than the Bluebirds in 2023/24. They remain in the top-half and having not finished there since 2020/21, there’s still plenty to play for as they visit Coventry looking for a first away H2H league victory since October 2010 (D2, L1).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: Ellis Simms has been on the rampage recently after a slow start to life with Coventry, scoring ten times in his last six appearances (A1). Karlan Grant was on target in the reverse fixture – four of his five strikes this term have arrived after half-time.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: There have been 11 goals in the opening half-hour of Coventry’s last six home games. [/p]
