Coventry Luton prediction 2023-02-11

Coventry vs Luton prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-02-10 15:00.
Coventry City couldn’t tip the scales in their favour during a tight Midlands derby last Friday, with the 1-0 loss at West Bromwich Albion keeping them in a packed mid-table. Although they are closer to the top six than the bottom three, an untimely loss of league form since Christmas (W1, D2, L4) has pegged them back. Boss Mark Robins spoke of the need for a “mindset change” when playing top teams after Friday’s loss, especially with promotion chasers Luton Town coming to town.

The Sky Blues managed to hold on to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture but are still searching for a first league H2H win since October 2017 (since: D4, L4). They will welcome a home clash to try and end that run as Coventry have lost just once across their last nine league matches here (W5, D3).

Luton crashed out of the FA Cup fourth round on Tuesday after a 3-0 defeat by League Two side Grimsby Town. Disappointed manager Rob Edwards admitted afterwards that he and his players “owe the travelling fans a performance” here. The visitors are flying high in the league though with six wins across seven games (L1) and another victory would see them post four successive Championship victories for the first time since September 2020, whilst also retaining a spot inside the top four.

There’s extra motivation for three points as Luton are on the verge of winning four away league games in any of the top-two tiers of English football for the first time since December 1983. H2H history indicates that won’t be an easy feat to achieve however, as despite the 1-0 win here last season, the visitors have never won consecutive away league H2Hs.

Players to watch: Coventry have scored exactly twice each time Gustavo Hamer has bagged in the Championship this season, including the reverse fixture. Carlton Morris scored a brace in that game for Luton and boasts a joint-personal high of three goals against Coventry.

Hot stat: Ahead of this round, Luton have scored a league-high eight goals within the first ten minutes.
