Coventry Rotherham prediction 2022-10-25

Coventry vs Rotherham prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-24 18:45.
Coventry’s fight to escape the relegation zone is gathering momentum, and they’re now within a point of safety after securing their third successive Championship victory in a 2-0 victory over Stoke at the weekend. Winless in their first five outings this league season (D1, L4), Mark Robins has turned his team around and they’ve now only fallen to only a single defeat since (W4, D3), in a run driven by a solid defence that has kept six clean sheets across those eight games.

So it’s back to the CBS Arena for the Sky Blues, where the home faithful can expect another low-scoring affair considering only Preston (25) have seen less Championship goals this season than Coventry’s 26. They won’t mind as long as the wins keep coming though, and after securing a league double the last time they met Rotherham, they are now hunting three consecutive league wins over their visitors for the very first time.

Rotherham make the trip off the back of a 4-2 defeat to Hull last time out, and will be trying to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time since April. Manager Matt Taylor won’t want that on his record while he continues to impose his philosophy on his team, as they could lose sight of the playoff spots since they currently lie in mid-table.

The Millers broke their duck when last on the road with a 1-0 win at Stoke, securing their first away win of the league season (D3, L2). But a trip to Coventry has historically been tough for Rotherham, who’ve won only twice in their 12 league visits there (D4, L6) so they’ll need all hands on deck if they are to triumph here and improve on a run that has seen them net just two goals in their last six Championship away trips.

Players to watch: Coventry’s Viktor Gyökeres has scored his side’s opener with each of his last six goals for the club, though he’ll need to pass Rotherham’s centre-back Richard Wood, who has proven he’s not only there to defend after scoring three of his four goals this season before half-time.

Hot stat: Only Preston (13) have seen more league draws at half-time this season than Rotherham’s nine.
