Cremonese Juventus prediction 2023-01-04

Cremonese vs Juventus prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-01-03 17:30.
Yet to win a Serie A (SA) game this season (D7, L8), Cremonese are staring down the barrel of an instant return to the Italian second tier. Strangely, despite their winless season so far, Cremonese find themselves not bottom but in 18th as SA resumes, but history is firmly stacked against them given the last three teams to be winless after 15 SA games all finished in 20th place.

If Cremonese had to pick an ideal opponent to snatch their first win against, then Juventus certainly wouldn’t be their first choice considering Cremonese have never beaten the Old Lady in SA action (D4, L10). It’s hard to find too many grains of hope for Cremonese, but successive 0-0 draws – one against champions AC Milan – in home league action does at least give them a platform to build upon in search of an unlikely victory.

Juventus won’t mind the fact Cremonese have a new-found defensive solidity at home as they’re used to low scoring affairs on the road, winning each of their last three SA away games 1-0. In fact, none of Juventus’ seven away league games this term (W3, D2, L2) have seen more than two goals, leaving them with a SA-low average of 1.14 goals witnessed per away league game.

While racking up the goals is almost immaterial as long as Juventus keep winning, there is pressure on boss Massimiliano Allegri to do just that, with speculation rife that the only way he will keep his post is if Juve secure a top-four finish. Allegri’s side are on course to achieve that feat, and with six straight league wins ‘to nil’ prior to the break Juventus will now hope the near two-month hiatus hasn’t stunted their momentum.

Players to watch: Home SA goals have been at a premium for Cremonese this term, with Cyriel Dessers just one of two scorers – but each of his five club goals this season have come prior to the 50th minute. Similarly a fan of a fast start, Juventus’ Moise Kean has opened the scoring on eight of his last nine SA scoring appearances.

Hot stat: Six of Juventus’ seven away league games this term have been level at the break (HT: L1).
