Crystal Palace Brighton prediction 2025-04-05

Crystal Palace vs Brighton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2025-04-04 14:00.
[p]Crystal Palace’s ambitions of a top-half finish in the Premier League were dented by a disappointing 1-1 draw at bottom-of-the-table Southampton on Wednesday. Oliver Glasner’s men needed a stoppage-time equaliser just to salvage that point which ended a five-match winning run across all competitions, but the confidence gained from avoiding defeat could serve them well in this grudge match against rivals Brighton.[/p]

[p]Remarkably, each of the last five H2Hs at Selhurst Park have ended in 1-1 draws – no specific fixture in English top-flight history has ever finished by the same scoreline in six successive meetings. Palace will hope that record remains intact, as after winning the reverse fixture 3-1 in December, they’re chasing a maiden top-flight double over Brighton, and a first in any league since 1932/33![/p]

[p]It’s been a bruising return to action from the international break for Brighton, who followed up penalty shootout heartbreak in the FA Cup quarter-finals against Nottingham Forest with a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa. Their hopes of a top-four finish were dealt a blow as a result, but the Seagulls should be confident of getting back on track here as they’ve won five of their seven away matches across all competitions in 2025 (D1, L1).[/p]

[p]That leaves them just one shy of the measly six away wins they managed in the whole of 2024, but London appears a tough destination to draw level on that front as Brighton have failed to win any of their last 11 Premier League matches in the capital (D5, L6). It’s their worst such run since the 1930s, yet boss Fabian Hürzeler might have the formula to end their woes here as his side remain unbeaten on the road against sides starting this round in the bottom half (W4, D2).[/p]

[p]Players to watch: On target three times in Palace’s last two home league games, IsmaĂŻla Sarr delivered arguably his best performance for the Eagles in the reverse fixture, having a direct hand in all three goals (G2, A1). Carlos Baleba could be the man to inspire a Brighton recovery as he’s already scored twice in London this season – only two Brighton players have done so three times in the same Premier League season.[/p]

[p]Hot streak: Palace have won each of their last three Saturday 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League without conceding.[/p]
